MTT assay for cell viability and growth - Labmonk
BACKGROUND. The growth of cells can be determined by the reduction of tetrazolium salts in MTT assay. Metabolically active cells reduce the yellow tetrazolium MTT (3-(4, 5-dimethylthiazolyl-2)-2, 5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide), in part by the action of dehydrogenase enzymes, to create reducing equivalents such as NADH and NADPH.

CS1 promotes multiple myeloma cell adhesion, clonogenic
Cell viability was assessed by the yellow tetrazolium (3-(4,5-dimethylthiazolyl-2)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide) (MTT) assay (ATCC). Absorbance of treated cells was divided by that of control MM cells to calculate survival fraction. Cell proliferation was assayed by [3 H]thymidine incorporation. 19

immunocytochemistry and western blot. Cell viability was measured using the tetrazolium reduction (3-(4,5-dimethylthiazolyl-2-)-2,5-diphenyltetrazoliumbromide [MTT]) assay. Cell proliferation was assayed by cell counts, immunocytochemistry, and western blot by using antibodies against proliferating cell nuclear antigen.
