Eastman Plasticizers for Wire & Cable
Eastman™ TOTM plasticizer (Tris (2-Ethylhexyl) Trimellitate) is the ideal PVC plasticizer for use in applications where low volatility is of supreme importance, such as wire and cable insulation and interior automotive. It also has properties that are required for dishwasher gaskets and photograph storage.
Wire and cable - Eastman Chemical Company
Abitol™ E resin hydroabietyl alcohol is a colorless, tacky, balsamic resin. Its tackiness and extremely pale color, combined with its solubility in common organic solvents and compatibility with resins, film-formers, and oils, have led to its use as a resinous plasticizer and/or tackifier in plastics, lacquers, inks and adhesives.
Eastman Plasticizers for Gaskets
Eastman™ TOTM plasticizer (Tris (2-Ethylhexyl) Trimellitate) is the ideal PVC plasticizer for use in applications where low volatility is of supreme importance, such as wire and cable insulation and interior automotive. It also has properties that are required for dishwasher gaskets and photograph storage.
Eastman in the Rubber and Tire Markets
Eastman™ performance additives enable tire compounders to enhance the strength and durability of tires while also optimizing the wet grip and rolling resistance conflict. Crystex® vulcanizing agents for rubber prevent sulfur migration and bloom, which can interfere with the tire building process.
Plasticizer
A plasticizer (UK: plasticiser) is a substance that is added to a material to make it softer and more flexible, to increase its plasticity, to decrease its viscosity, or to decrease friction during its handling in manufacture.
Plasticizers
Appearance/ Supply Form yellowish, slightly turbid liquid Applications rubber and PVC mixes for, e.g. anti-static cots and aprons, printing roller sleeves, driving belts, conveyer belts for mining, tire equipment, fuel hoses, flooring, cable compounds
Polyvinyl chloride
Flexible PVC coated wire and cable for electrical use has traditionally been stabilised with lead, but these are being replaced with calcium-zinc based systems. In a fire, PVC-coated wires can form hydrogen chloride fumes; the chlorine serves to scavenge free radicals and is the source of the material's fire retardancy .
Rubber Processing – Valtris
Low cost activator, dispersing agent, plasticizer and lubricant in rubber compound processing. Petrac® 270 For the manufacture of metallic stearates, esters and other derivatives where a high quality, light colored stearic acid is required.
Plasticizer
‘Trimellitate plasticizers’ are produced by the esterification of a range of alcohols with trimellitic anhydride (TMA). Esters of trimellitic (1,2,4-benzenetricarboxylic acid) anhydride provide excellent resistance to volatile loss and oxidation under heat aging conditions. Trimellitates are used mostly for PVC cable and wire.
Chloroprene Rubber
Chloroprene rubber compounds can be formulated by following procedures for NR and SBR fillers and plasticizers. This rubber is vulcanized with metal oxides, either with or without sulfur; usually a combination of zinc and magnesium oxides, with white lead oxide (litharge or red lead).
Styrene-Butadiene (SBR) Rubber: Uses, Structure & Material
It is a process to obtain cross-linking of elastomer molecules to make rubber stiffer and stronger as well as retains extensibility at the same time. All types of SBR are vulcanized using the same vulcanization agents as for natural rubber. Styrene-butadiene rubber can be vulcanized using sulfur, sulfur donor systems and peroxides. Sulfur is
Chlorinated Polyethylene - Polymer Products - ARP Materials Inc.
The low dosage levels of our resin may greatly improve the impact resistance of rigid PVC and enhance its processing flowability. These products have good chemical resistance, outstanding low-temperature performance, high filling capacity, excellent weather resistance and remarkable compatibility, which makes it widely used in the formulation.
